Mouthmobile delivers free dental care for veterans at Augusta Common
Retired Army Staff Sgt. Jose Mercado said veterans are not covered for dental work unless they meet very specific criteria and those that do have to wait months to get basic care.“It’s the only thing at the VA that they require 100 percent disability,” Mercado said. “It’s so overcrowded, you can’t imagine,” Mercado said. “The waiting list for a clean-up is like eight months.”Aspen Dental is helping these veterans and their teeth with its MouthMobile, a dentist office housed in a 42-foot long bus that travels across the country, which was at Augusta Common on Thursday.
